The NVIDIA MCP7Y50-N003 is a direct attach splitter cable made from copper that converts one 800 Gb/s OSFP port into four separate 200 Gb/s OSFP links for InfiniBand NDR or 400 GbE Ethernet networks. A twin port OSFP plug connects to the switch, while four flat top OSFP plugs fan out to servers or adapters.

The cable uses passive copper conductors, so it draws no power and adds virtually no latency. Each connector contains an EEPROM that allows the switch to identify the cable and automatically apply the correct InfiniBand or Ethernet settings.

Its three-meter length and 26 AWG wiring sit inside an LSZH jacket made from halogen-free material, meeting common safety requirements and making the cable easy to route within a rack or between adjacent racks. Two-channel 100G PAM4 signaling on every link preserves signal integrity and ensures the full 800 Gb/s aggregate bandwidth.

Administrators often deploy this cable to break out 800 Gb/s ports on NVIDIA Quantum-2 or Spectrum-4 switches and attach multiple ConnectX-7 adapters in GPU clusters, high performance compute nodes, or machine learning servers. Installation is straightforward: plug the twin port end into the switch, snap the four breakout ends into the adapters, and the network is ready without transceivers or optics.

Highlights:
  • Breaks one 800 Gb/s twin port OSFP into four independent 200 Gb/s OSFP links
  • Three meter cable with passive copper conductors, eliminating power draw and extra latency
  • Supports two channel 100G PAM4 signaling on every link
  • EEPROM in every connector lets the switch detect the correct InfiniBand or Ethernet protocol automatically
  • 26 AWG wires housed in an LSZH jacket made from halogen-free material for safer in-rack cabling
  • Ideal for NVIDIA Quantum-2 or Spectrum-4 switches paired with ConnectX-7 adapters in short-range deployments
