Each cable carries both data and power signals, which simplifies cabling in a crowded rack and keeps throughput consistent. Broadcom SAS DataBolt technology buffers traffic from 6 Gb/s drives so they can still feed the 12 Gb/s backplane at full speed, making good use of any existing drives you already own.

When future growth is a priority, the enclosure can be daisy-chained with up to fifteen additional units for a potential raw capacity of 4.6 petabytes. Multipath routing and link aggregation spread traffic across all available lanes, delivering an aggregate bandwidth of up to 96 Gb/s so large backup jobs, virtual machine images, or surveillance archives move quickly even at scale.

Two hot-swappable 550 W power supplies offer redundancy without interrupting service if one module needs maintenance. Typical power draw stays near 207 W, which helps data center managers plan rack power budgets accurately.

Setup is straightforward for administrators who already run QTS or QuTS hero on a QNAP NAS, and the unit also integrates smoothly with Windows Server 2019.
