This stunning vintage Chinese cloisonné vase stands approximately 12–14 inches tall and features a double-sided design with rich symbolic meaning. One side displays a phoenix (fenghuang) among scrolling lotus leaves, while the other side showcases a bold peony blossom, the “King of Flowers.” Together, the phoenix and peony symbolize virtue, beauty, prosperity, and harmony.
The vase is beautifully decorated with shades of turquoise, cobalt blue, teal, red, and gold, all outlined in gilt wirework. Traditional Greek key (leiwen) borders frame the neck and base, while the rims are finished in bright gilding. The underside is covered in smooth turquoise enamel, typical of mid-20th century cloisonné made for export.
Height: 12–14"
Diameter: ~7.5"
Base diameter: ~4.5"
Excellent vintage condition. Bright enamels with no chips, cracks, or repairs. Some light surface wear consistent with age. Gilding remains vibrant.
